Butt Welded Pipe Fitting Elbow

Butt Welded Pipe Fitting Elbow
Product Introduction:
In piping systems, Butt Welded Pipe Fitting Elbow are fittings that change the direction of the pipeline. According to the angle, there are three most commonly used types: 45degree, 90degree, and 180degree.

Description
Technical Parameters

In-house butt-weld carbon steel elbows - 1/2″ to 48″ OD, produced without subcontracting.

Push-formed and hot-formed on Baode's own production floor, ready for oil & gas, power, petrochemical and municipal piping systems.

●  Formed from ASTM A234 WPB carbon steel (20# also available), matching both ASME- and GB-referenced project drawings without re-ordering material.
●  Push-forming and hot-forming lines cover 1/2″–24″ seamless and 18″–48″ welded elbows - multi-size orders from one factory instead of three suppliers.
●  Wall thickness runs 2mm–60mm, covering standard-schedule piping through heavy-wall pressure sections on the same line.
●  Long radius (1.5D) and short radius (1.0D) produced side by side - LR lowers flow resistance on continuous-duty lines; SR fits tight equipment layouts.
●  45°, 90°, 180° and special angles such as 60° pushed on the same tooling - odd-angle drawings don't need a separate quote cycle.
●  1-year warranty and MOQ of 1 piece let a project team sample fit and finish before committing to a full container.

Why Choose This Elbow

Dual Forming Process Under One Roof

In-house push-forming machines cover 3″–24″ elbows while hydraulic pressing lines handle 1/2″–3″, so full-range orders come off one factory floor instead of being split between subcontractors. That keeps every size on a single QC chain and a single lead time. See our full carbon steel elbow range for related configurations.

Long Radius Geometry Lowers Pumping Cost

The 1.5D long radius reduces flow resistance compared with a 1.0D short radius bend of the same nominal size, which lowers pumping energy on continuous-duty transmission lines. Short radius (1.0D) stays available on the same tooling for layouts where space, not flow, is the constraint.

Heavy-Wall Range Covers Standard Through Heavy Schedule

Wall thickness from 2mm to 60mm lets one material order cover both light-schedule utility piping and heavy-wall pressure sections, without switching suppliers mid-project.

Two Material Grades, One Order

Elbows are produced in ASTM A234 WPB and domestic 20# carbon steel. Buyers working to a GB-based drawing and buyers working to an ASME-based drawing can both be filled from the same production line, without a separate tooling change-over.

Click to Compare: Long Radius vs Short Radius

Long Radius – LR (1.5D)   Short Radius – SR (1.0D)
Bend radius 1.5 × nominal diameter (1.5D)
Flow resistance Lower - smoother direction change, less turbulence
Best fit Continuous-duty transmission lines, pump suction/discharge runs
Governing standard ASME B16.9

Application Scenarios

product-690-456

Oil & Gas Pipelines

Long-distance gathering and transmission lines need direction-change fittings that hold up under pressure cycling and weld stress. The 1.5D long radius geometry in ASTM A234 WPB keeps flow resistance and turbulence low at pipeline bends.

Power Plant Steam Piping

Steam and process piping runs continuously under thermal cycling. The heavy-wall option (up to 60mm) supports higher-pressure schedule requirements on these systems.

Petrochemical Processing

Process units route piping through tight equipment layouts. Butt-welded elbows provide a full-penetration joint suited to the repeated inspection cycles process plants require.

Municipal Gas & Water Distribution

Urban gas and water networks favor standardized ASME B16.9 fittings for interoperability across contractors. In-stock standard sizes support fast project rollout on municipal timelines.

Shipbuilding Piping Systems

Onboard piping needs fittings that meet recognized dimensional standards for classification-society review. ASME B16.9 compliance simplifies documentation during vessel piping inspection.

OEM / ODM Service Process

Custom angles, radii and sizes within our production range can be produced against buyer drawings, packed under buyer branding on request. Visit our service page for the full scope of factory capabilities.
