Spiral Wound Gasket Its structure is divided into basic type, inner ring type, outer ring type, and inner and outer ring type. The inner and outer rings are made of stainless steel such as 304 and 316, which can enhance sealing and positioning alignment. It is suitable for medium and low pressure tenon groove surfaces, flat or concave convex flanges. This gasket adopts a V-shaped or W-shaped steel strip structure, with a working pressure range of ≤ 25MPa, and is suitable for equipment such as protruding flanges and heat exchangers. Non metallic filling materials include flexible graphite strips, asbestos strips, etc. The thickness of non-metallic strips is 0.3-1.0mm, which complies with domestic and foreign technical standards such as ASME B16.20 and HG/T20610

Spiral wound gasket is the most elastic gasket among semi metal sealing gaskets. The structural density of spiral wound gasket can be made according to different locking force requirements, and the maximum compression degree is controlled by inner and outer steel rings. The surface accuracy of the flange sealing surface in contact with the spiral wound gasket is not high.

The basis for the inner and outer rings is the sealing surface of the flange. Spiral wound gaskets with inner and outer rings are used for flat and protruding flanges. The inner ring is mainly used for reinforcement, while the outer ring is mainly used for positioning. After the outer diameter of the outer ring reaches the bolt, the middle sealing part can be aligned, which can achieve a good sealing effect. So there are inner and outer rings.
