Application parts and precautions of blind plates
1. During the initial start-up preparation stage, if the strength test or tightness test of the pipeline cannot be carried out simultaneously with the connected equipment (such as turbines, compressors, gasifiers, reactors, etc.), blind flanges need to be installed at the connection between the equipment and the pipeline.
2. Various process material pipelines connected outside the boundary to within the boundary shall be equipped with blind plates at the cut-off valve if the pipeline is still in operation when the device is shut down.
3. When the device is of multiple series, the main pipeline from outside the boundary is divided into several branch pipelines entering each series, and blind plates are installed at the cut-off valves of each branch pipeline.
4. When the device needs regular maintenance, inspection, or mutual switching, and the equipment involved needs to be completely isolated, blind plates should be installed at the shut-off valve.
5. When connecting pressure pipelines, replacement gas pipelines (such as nitrogen pipelines, compressed air pipelines), process pipelines and equipment, blind plates should be installed at the shut-off valve.
6. The low points of equipment and pipelines should be drained completely. If the process medium needs to be collected in a unified system, blind plates should be installed after the shut-off valve.
7. Blind plates or plugs should be installed behind valves for exhaust pipes, drain pipes, and sampling pipes of equipment and pipelines. Excluding materials that are non-toxic, harmless to health, and non explosive.
8. When the device is constructed in stages, blind plates are installed at the cut-off valves for interconnected pipelines to facilitate subsequent construction.
9. During normal production of the device, some auxiliary pipelines that need to be completely cut off should generally be equipped with blind plates.
precautions
1. Minimize the number of blind plates as much as possible while meeting the process requirements.
2. The blind plate set must indicate whether it can be opened or closed normally.
3. The location of the blind plate should be determined based on the cutting effect, safety, and process requirements, whether it is located upstream or downstream of the shut-off valve.
